MOSCOW: Online retailer AliExpress Russia on Monday reported gross merchandise volume (GMV) of 133.3 billion rubles ($1.86 billion) for the first half of fiscal 2021-22, a 36% year-on-year increase. AliExpress Russia, which said in April that an IPO was a possible move for the company, has yet to release a growth indicator for GMV, an e-commerce metric measuring transaction volume. In the past fiscal year, the company was worth almost 3 billion U.S. dollar. AliExpress Russia is a joint venture founded in 2019 between the Chinese online shopping giant Alibaba and Russian partners Marktplatz.
