It's in the eye of the beholder. Of course there are a few exclusive games, but so far I've survived without them. Despite PS4 I have never bought and played one of them. In most cases they have shooter elements anyway and are therefore uninteresting to me. In addition, I don't like the concept of "exclusive titles" at all. So I don't support that either. That's why Epic has never seen a penny from me and while I have all the parts of Borderlands I didn't buy the 3rd one because of their exclusive deal with Epic. I see it similarly with Sony. A few of them were later also available for PC, with Epic and therefore not accessible for me, but still. It's my business that I refuse, but I'm still alive. If you absolutely have to play one of the titles, book PS Now for 3 months and play on the PC and you're done. 😉
Apart from that: All providers, whether digital games or films/series - should try to create a common blockchain basis where you can prove a purchase and are no longer individually bound. It sucks to have an overview of your digital possessions from 400 different providers. What would be the problem of entering digital purchases in a register and making them usable everywhere. Then it would also be failsafe.
