In fact, experience has shown that if you want to get a GWP, you have to be quick. One can also argue that the event was brought forward and that GWP is no longer available online on the actual May the Fourth. At least for me it was very convenient, since it started at the weekend. I wouldn't have felt like staying up that late tonight. So you could have celebrated this event accordingly, watched Star Wars films beforehand and got hold of a set with GWP from midnight. Everything worked perfectly. With me. But many also have shift work or other reasons why they don't want to or can't stay up that late/early. I think it's just impossible for Lego to please everyone. So I can understand the disappointment. Unfortunately, not everyone has a Lego shop nearby. In any case, this will hardly spell the demise of Lego. Bluebrixx, Cobi and the like will hardly be able to offer Star Wars sets. Lego will remain the leader for a long time. However, thanks also to compatibility, the limits could disappear over time. Or everyone sticks to their niches. Bluebrixx concentrates more on its railways, Cobi makes Militaria and Lego what they always did, play worlds for children but increasingly also more sophisticated sets for adults. And the trouble with the GWPs will never end. 😉
