"Of course it's always more pleasant when you can offer people everything for free," says FDP parliamentary group leader Beat Walti. But you know that fighting the pandemic is only possible with a high vaccination rate. “In Switzerland we are lagging behind. The pressure has to be kept up."
With his opinion in Parliament, Walti is clearly in the minority. It is therefore possible that the Federal Council will soon come back to its decision. If not, Parliament would have to take the longer official route.
