"Don't make ads. Make TikToks.” This is the slogan with which TikTok for Business encourages brands and companies to use the platform for creative targeting. Advertising in the trending app is gaining in appeal as TikTok is expected to surpass 1.2 billion users this year, according to App Annie forecasts. There are also various new options for advertising and social commerce via the app. TikTok is now also launching the TikTok for Business Profile in the app itself. Marketers can use this profile to get tips for better ad performance, for example. Access to additional resources for brands and creators has also been integrated.
Tips and tricks from TikTok - directly in the app
Anyone who has been using the TikTok app, which has been extremely successful for several years, should have noticed by now that the platform has long been very popular with brands and companies. Ads, cooperation with influencers and business accounts are increasingly appearing. And TikTok not only frequently delivers new features for the creators, but also strengthens them through the connection to marketers. The company only launched an SME hub for Germany at the beginning of the year. This enables companies to create campaigns with the TikTok Ads Manager and the associated self-service platform suitable for the app. Cooperation with the giant advertising group WPP or with Shopify – which enables retailers to create campaigns directly on the Shopify platform – bring companies and the social media platform even closer together.
This is now supported by the TikTok for Business Account, which users can find directly in the app. It can also be viewed in the web app.
So far, the account only offers a few videos, which are mainly aimed at improving TikTok performance. In this way, users receive the tip to pay attention to TikTok trends and to adapt them for their own purposes. Another clip recommends the integration of calls-to-action.
The hints are still at the basics level. But if you want to do TikTok marketing or just want to create good TikToks, you could get some helpful – and possibly always new – tips or at least some inspiration from the account in the future. In addition, TikTok has integrated a link tree in the account profile description that leads to useful resources. Interested parties can use these links to access, for example, the TikTok Trend Report 2020/2021, the Small Business Resource Center or the TikTok for Business Blog. Therefore, the new TikTok for Business Profile is also a relevant resource for marketers who want to familiarize themselves with the platform in order to advertise there successfully or to build their reach.
