Teclast equips the T40 Plus with an 8 MP main camera and a 5 MP front camera. The latter takes portrait shots, which show contrast weaknesses even in very good light and appear too dark and blurred. The main camera shows our test subject with pale colors and a moderate level of detail. The black interference on the right of the image is caused by the camera sensor, which is not in the center behind the lens in our test model. Our panorama shot also shows that the camera does not cope well with uneven lighting conditions. Subjects appear muddy when zoomed in and practically nothing can be seen in the low-light image. Apart from the option of switching on an HDR mode, no further adjustments to the image quality can be made.
Video recordings show a similar quality as our test photos. The main camera supports the resolutions 480p, 720p and 1080p and the front camera supports 480p and 720p. Information on the fps is just as lacking as there are manual setting options.
